We’re excited to announce that Sandy Malone Weddings & Events will be launching a series of seminars focused on TEACHING the best wedding planning strategies.
Whether you’re a wanna-be wedding planner, an experienced planner ready to launch your own company, or a DIY wedding couple who want to know the best way to plan your own wedding, our seminars will provide tested and proven practices to make every wedding you plan as stress-free and flawless as possible.
Each seminar will feature a different set of opportunities to grow your knowledge of wedding planning in the direction most appropriate for you. These are absolutely not “wedding planner certification” courses because Sandy doesn’t believe you actually get the tools you need from those. This is a hands-on class where you’ll leave with spreadsheets, forms, sample send-out materials and more to help you achieve your goals. You will receive a course completion document to show you’ve attended and it’s definitely something to showcase to your potential clients, but to become a real wedding planner, you have to actually experience planning weddings.
There will be other experts participating as instructors in our seminars – including some reality television stars you’ll recognize from some of your favorite programs – and we cannot wait to announce the dates and who you’re going to get to meet!
How to Become a Wedding Planner Seminar
- This seminar will focus on how to plan a wedding, from beginning to end. Starting with the guest list, the budget and choosing the appropriate venue for a specific client to confirming vendors and organizing your materials so that you can be completely focused and prepared when the big day arrives. We’ll also cover the basics of contracts, insurance, liability, marketing and reputation management.
How to DIY a Wedding Seminar
- This seminar is geared for brides and grooms who want to DIY all or part of their wedding festivities. Consider it a checklist from a professional who will tell you what red flags to be wary of, how to find and vet your vendors, tips for making sure the vendor schedule is confirmed so that your events will run smoothly, and lots of charts and spreadsheets for you to complete that will help you plan it all yourself. You can absolutely DIY your at-home or destination wedding, but why not learn from the mistakes made by a professional who does it all the time rather than repeating the same errors. Sandy was a DIY bride more than 12 years ago and she knows what you don’t want to have happen at your wedding when you are the ones in charge.
How to Launch a Destination Wedding Planning Company Seminar
- It’s one thing to try to open a wedding planning company where you live, but becoming an expert on things in many different places is an entirely different ball of wax, complete with a variety of challenges you won’t encounter in major cities. How to structure your company, where to base your company, how to market your services and gradually earn a reputation as an expert in your field are all things Sandy can teach you based on her own experiences planning weddings for eight years in the Caribbean. This is also an excellent seminar for local planners who are considering expanding their service offerings to include destination weddings. There are differences in marriage license requirements, permits, licensing, insurance, contracts, and liability. Look before you leap – and Sandy is going to tell you EXACTLY what to watch out for when you land.
