Get Stress-Free DIY Wedding Planning Assistance from a Pro!

Sandy Malone Weddings & Events is a Washington, DC-based wedding planning and special events firm with a twist – not only do we do traditional hometown wedding and destination wedding planning for our clients, we offer a range of Do-It-Yourself consulting services for the growing population of brides and grooms with the DIY bug!

Why Sandy Decided to Give Away Her Planning Secrets to DIY Brides

Sandy has traditionally planned more than 500 weddings for happy clients in the Caribbean and the United States, and during that time, she’s watched the DIY-wedding craze sweep the nation. At first, her clients wanted to make their own placecards. Now they want to ship DIY bouquets, centerpieces, favors and lots of other things. Brides and grooms want to do more for their own weddings – at home and away – and rather than fighting it, Sandy decided to help them.

Who Needs DIY Wedding Planning Help?

Our DIY planning clients are brides and grooms with enough creativity, energy, and time to plan their own weddings – they just need some direction! What to do first, which vendors to select in what order, how to save money on things that often turn into ugly budget surprises – we can help with all of that.

How DIY Wedding Planning Consulting Works

Our DIY consulting services are for both at-home and destination wedding brides and grooms. The principles of planning don’t change – nor do the mechanics – wherever you’re getting married. It’s easier to DIY when you don’t have to ship everything and deal with vendors you’ve never met in person, but DIYing your wedding at home has just as many little details to remember and schedules to write and confirm. We offer DIY solutions for every kind of bride, customized to suit your wedding style and plans.

Sandy provides spreadsheets and forms to our clients to help them prepare their own wedding in the same organized manner in which she has planned weddings for more than eight years. She’ll help negotiate the contracts with vendors, if you need that. And she can draft a timeline for EVERYTHING that you absolutely, positively cannot forget in the last two weeks leading up to your wedding. In other words, we’ll help you make sure you set it up properly and keep it organized.

We can assist with creating travel information and welcome materials for your guests, as well as making sure that you have a realistic budget estimate of what you’re spending and everything you need to pay for before it’s all said and done, including tips. We’ll recommend vendors, help vet the vendors you’re considering, and sit in on conference calls as requested.

Our #1 goal is to help DIY brides and grooms actually DIY their own weddings SUCCESSFULLY and have fun doing it, with a little help from a wedding planner behind the scenes. Our clients who’ve used our DIY services say it saved them a ton of frustration and money when we stepped in to help.

You probably thought it would be FUN to DIY your wedding and we believe it can be. But in order for you to actually enjoy your wedding day and its surrounding events, things have to be ready to go and thoroughly organized before the big week arrives. Our goal is to help make DIYing your wedding fun and as stress-free as possible.

DIY consulting packages are available based on the number of hours of work required for your specific wedding. After a free consultation, we’ll help you determine how much help you need!

If You Need More Help DIYing Than You Thought You Would

Some DIY brides and grooms start their planning and find themselves in a pickle having chosen a bad vendor or started planning in a destination they know nothing about. Do not panic! Sandy can jump right into your DIY mess and help you sort it out so that you’re back on track and can continue your DIY planning.

If the bride and groom decide that they need on-the-ground, hands-on help for their actual wedding weekend, Sandy and her team (if available on your wedding date) will come to you and make sure that everything runs smoothly your wedding week and, most especially, on your big day.
